Summary:PURPOSE: A gas breaker is provided to improve extinguishing performance by implementing a circulation effect when a high current is blocked. CONSTITUTION: A thermal puffer room(21) and a mechanical puffer room(32) with variable volumes are serially arranged. A partition member(41) divides the thermal puffer room into an inner space(61) and an outer space(62). Openings(53,54) are installed in the end of an insulation nozzle(14) and the end of a mechanical puffer room. A switch valve(42) and a sealing member(43) are arranged in the end of the insulation nozzle of the thermal puffer room. The switch valve closes a flow path(51) between the partition member and the sealing member.
