Summary:PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes is provided to have few side reactions, to have excellent selectivity of products, and to manufacture α,β-unsaturated aldehydes efficiently and effectively. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes comprises a step of aldol condensation reacting aldehyde and 0.2-2.0% NaOH aqueous solution at 90-130 °C. The weight ratio of the aldehyde and the NaOH aqueous solution is 1.0:0.6 - 1.0:1.7. The aldol condensation is symmetrical aldol condensation. The aldehyde is n aldehyde. The NaOH aqueous solution is 0.8-1.0 % NaOH aqueous solution. The aldol-condensation is conducted in 1-10 bar, by CSTR(continuous reactor).
