PURPOSE: A flexible display substrate and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to make a flexible display thin and effectively block oxygen and moisture. CONSTITUTION: A flexible display substrate(100) includes a plastic substrate(110) and a barrier film(120). The barrier film is formed on the plastic substrate. The amount of metal in a concentration gradient layer(121~123) increases as the barrier film gets closer to the plastic substrate. The amount of oxygen in the concentration gradient layer increases as the barrier film gets farther from the plastic substrate. The barrier film includes a plurality of concentration gradient layers.
