Summary:PURPOSE: A composite film and a semiconductor light emitting device using the same are provided to suppress characteristic deviation of the wavelength conversion layer to be minimum by using a phosphor plate or a phosphor sheet of which thickness is controlled. CONSTITUTION: In a composite film and a semiconductor light emitting device using the same, a wavelength conversion layer(1) absorbs the part or the whole of excitation light. The wavelength conversion layer includes a phosphor material emitting visible light of which wavelength is longer than the excitation light. A route for excitation light exciting the phosphor material among the wavelength conversion layer is formed in one side of the wavelength conversion layer. A diffusion reflective resin layer(2) is selectively formed on one side surface of the wavelength conversion layer.
