Summary:PURPOSE: A rescue instrument is provided to reduce rescue time by accurately estimating the position of a survivor who escapes from a wrecked ship. CONSTITUTION: A rescue instrument(5) has a reel and a rope(11). The rescue instrument is a float. The reel is installed inside the float. The rope is wound around the reel and is fixed to a ship. When the ship is sunk, the rope wound around the reel is unwound, and the float is floated to a water surface.
