Summary:PURPOSE: A composition containing alpha-glucosidase is provided to prevent or teat diabetes without side effects. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating diabetes contains Salicornia gerbacea fermentation as an active ingredient. The Salicornia gerbacea fermentation fraction is prepared by adding Salicornia gerbacea fermentation using hexane. A method for preparing the fraction comprises: a step of adding sugar to Salicornia gerbacea and fermenting for 45-51 months to obtain Salicornia gerbacea fermentation; a step of adding water to the Salicornia gerbacea fermentation to prepare suspension; and a step of adding hexane to the suspension. A food composition for preventing or treating diabetes contains Salicornia gerbacea fermentation as an active ingredient.
