Summary:PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for verifying a speaker using a mobile terminal is provided to authenticate the mobile phone user through a voice of the user. CONSTITUTION: A voice feature value is extracted from a inputted voice signal(120). A likelihood ratio is measured of a voice bio key and the voice feature value are measured(140). A dispersion specific weight distance of the voice bio key and the voice feature value are measured(150). The voice signal speaker and the speaker of the previously stored bio key is determined using the dispersion specific weight distance.
