Summary:PURPOSE: A backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device of the same are provided to improve light efficiency and equalize brightness. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit of a liquid crystal display device comprises one or more light emitting diodes(153) which emit light, a light guide plate which is placed in parallel with the light emitting diode, and a heat blocking unit(160) which prevents the transmission of the heat which is generated from the light emitting diodes. The heat blocking unit is placed between the light emitting diode and the light guide plate. The heat blocking unit is made of a transparent material.
