Summary:PURPOSE: A polarizing plate and a blue phase liquid crystal mode-based liquid crystal display apparatus are provided to obtain a complete block state in case of non-supply of power by overcoming the occurrence of a bluish phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: A stacked body reflects light due to the grating structure of blue phase liquid crystal. The stacked body includes a plurality of coating layers. The refraction index of the coating layers are between 1.4 and 3.4 under 500um wavelength. The refraction index difference of the coating layers between 1.0 and 2.0. The stacked body is polarizing plate and is arranged on the upper substrate of the liquid crystal.
