Summary:PURPOSE: A dye sensitized solar battery with a metal oxide of a core shell structure is provided to prevent recombination of electrons, thereby increasing energy conversion efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor electrode comprises a conductive substrate(101), a porous metal oxide layer(120), and a dye molecule layer(114). The porous metal oxide layer is composed of composite particles(110) of a core shell structure. The dye molecule layer is absorbed on the surface of the composite particles. Counter electrodes(201,203) are separated from the semiconductor electrode. An electrolyte layer(150) is arranged between the semiconductor electrode and the counter electrode.
