Summary:PURPOSE: A method and system for removing the ringing phenomenon of image de-convolution are provided to prevent interference to edge tapering and to remove the ringing phenomenon of image de-convolution by selecting a big critical value about edge detection. CONSTITUTION: A system(10) for reducing the ringing of the image de-convolution includes a de-convolution unit(1), an edge detector(2), an edge tapering unit(7), a low-pass filter(5), and a multi resolution unit(4). The de-convolution unit applies de-convolution to a blurred image. The edge detector detects edge within a de-convolution image. The edge tapering unit performs the edge tapering about a blurred image based on the detected edge. The low-pass filter filters the de-convoluted image.
