Summary:PURPOSE: An apparatus for slitting a flexible flat cable is provided to determine the defect of a slid flexible flat cable. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for slitting a flexible flat cable, a plurality of movable blocks(2a,2b,2c) are arranged between two side frames(11,12). A cutter is mounted on the each movable block. A plurality of spiral axes(S1,S2,S3) are mounted in the side frame and are rotatable to penetrate the movable block. The spiral axes are connected to each other through step motors and belts one to one. A plurality of first cameras(C1,C2,C3) are arranged in the lower part of the movable block. The first camera independently takes a photograph of the slitting section of the flexible flat cable to be slid by a cutter and transmits an image to a controller(20).
