Summary:PURPOSE: A method for operating a heating element of a vehicle by pulse width modulation is provided to prevent the overheating of heating elements due to the rising of supply voltage during voltage pulse. CONSTITUTION: A method for operating a heating element of a vehicle by pulse width modulation comprises next step. The voltage existing on heating element and the current flowing through the heating element are measured in a regular interval for one cycle of voltage pulse. The values, determined from the above, are added in order to calculate a sum value. The values have energy which is put into the heating element by the voltage pulse. The voltage pulse no matter what farthest finishes when the sum value reaches a target value.
