Summary:PURPOSE: An image processing device and a controlling method thereof are provided to exactly grasp pointing operation inputted from a pointing device which is suitable for intention of a user by preventing performance of unwilled function by misidentification of a specific function. CONSTITUTION: An image processing unit(210) displays and processes an image. A recognizing unit(220) recognizes a pointing operation inputted from a pointing device. A control unit(230) executes a function and processes an image if a first pointing operation which selects a predetermined function and a selected second pointing operation which checks whether to execute the function or not is inputted from the pointing device. The second pointing device is at least one among a specific operation which is continued for a fixed time, a specific operation which is repeated for a fixed frequency, an operation of a specific pattern, and a operation which points a random or a specific area of a screen.
