Summary: | The method for operating a ship's propulsion system with waste heat recovery entails the shaft generator/motor (11) being switched from motor mode to generator mode during motor mode of the shaft generator/motor and in the event of failure of power generation by the waste heat recovery system (20), wherein during the changeover time a power source (17) feeds electrical power into the ship's network (5) in such a way that the voltage and frequency of the ship's network does not fall below a respectively predetermined limiting value. An independent claim is included for a ship's propulsion system with waste heat recovery in which a control and regulating system (16) switches the shaft generator/motor from motor mode to generator mode in the event of failure of power generation by the waste heat recovery system. |
