Summary:PURPOSE: A doctor blade with beveled edge for drum maintenance in a phase-change ink imaging device is provided to prevent the deterioration of imaging caused by the accumulation of ink in a drum. CONSTITUTION: A phase-change ink imaging device comprises a storage unit(108), a coating unit(104), and a metering blade(174). The storage unit comprises a release agent feeder. The coating unit receives the release agent from the storage unit and applies the release agent on an imaging surface. The metering blade for measuring the release agent applied on the imaging surface is arranged in a doctor mode with respect to the process direction of the imaging surface. The metering blade has a leading end approaching the imaging surface, wherein the leading end is composed of a square part on a side close to the imaging surface and a beveled part on the opposite side.
