Summary:PURPOSE: A process for preparing aromatic amines is provided to use a minimum molar excess of bases compared with an acid compound and to prevent dangers of phase reverse. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing aromatic amines comprises the steps of: preparing aromatic amine by hydrogenation of corresponding aromatic nitro compound in the presence of a catalyst and obtaining crude aromatic amine by separating water obtained by hydrogenation through phase separation; mixing the crude aromatic amine with at least one base solution; 0.05 ~ 20 weight% of mixture with water; and separating an organic phase containing aromatic amine and an aqueous phase.
