CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for reducing the loss of radiant heat from a molding body during a glass molding process comprises the following: an enclosure(40) located around a molding body; an opening formed on the enclosure, on the lower side of the molding body for passing molten glass descending from the molding body through the enclosure; and heat shielding materials(54) located on the lower side of the molding body to minimize the loss of radiant heat.
