Summary:PURPOSE: A diagnostic system and a method for a home appliance are provided to efficiently detect product information by detecting a preamble and data from a signal which is generated based on multiple symbol blocks having time difference for a signal sound. CONSTITUTION: At least one home appliance(1) outputs product information in a signal sound(100), and a diagnosis server(200) detects the product information from the signal sound of the home appliance. The diagnosis server detects the product information through plural sync signals generated at a predetermined unit time interval. The diagnosis server diagnoses the state, failure and a failure reason for the home appliance based on the product information.
