Summary:PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of beta naphthol is provided to easily extract beta sodium salt form a by-product using a layer separation method, and to prevent the generation of toxic gas from the reaction of the by-product and a basic solvent. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of beta naphthol comprises the following steps: forming sulfuric acid naphthalene by sulfation reacting naphthalene(S110); forming sulfuric acid sodium naphthalene salt by first neutralization-reacting the sulfuric acid naphthalene(S120); forming beta sodium salt by adding the sulfuric acid sodium naphthalene salt to a reaction solvent containing water and an organic solvent, and performing a hydrolysis(S130); separating the beta naphthalene salt and by-products from the solvent(S140); and forming the beta naphthol by second neutralization-reacting the beta naphthalene salt(S150).
