Summary:PURPOSE: A cationically polymerizable adhesive and a polarizing plate using thereof are provided to use the cationically polymerizable adhesive as an adhesive for an optical material, and a construction material. CONSTITUTION: A cationically polymerizable adhesive contains an oxetane compound with more than two oxetanyl groups, aromatic glycidyl ether, and a cationic polymerization initiator. The amount of chlorine inside the total amount of the adhesive is less than 1,500 ppm. A polarizing plate includes a protective film formed with either triacetyl cellulose or cycloolefin, a polarizer formed with polyvinylalcohol, and the cationically polymerizable adhesive.
