Summary:PURPOSE: A method for recognizing terminal capability is provided to transmit information for terminal capability in a wireless communication system. CONSTITUTION: A base station divides a preamble based on a terminal category into a plurality of groups(S1205). The base station broadcasts information about a parameter about the preamble and the preamble group to a terminal(S1210). The terminal arbitrarily selects a preamble from a specific preamble group(S1215). The terminal transmits the preamble for random access to the base station(S1220). The base station recognizes a category of the terminal and terminal capability from the preamble(S1225).
