Summary:PURPOSE: A transmitting/receiving system and method of processing data in a transmitting/receiving system are provided to efficiently perform channel setting by using signaling information. CONSTITUTION: A different FIC(Fast Information Channel) chunk major protocol version from a received broadcasting signal extracts a signaled FIC segments. The number of the corresponding FIC segment, the number of the last FIC segment, the FIC chunk major protocol version information are obtained from each segment header. The FIC chunk including signaling information between the ensemble and the mobile service is restored from the FIC segments.
