Summary:PURPOSE: A system and a method for adjusting a transmitting rate of data are provided to adjust the multimedia data transmission rate accurately and efficiently by using communication channel information and transmission state information. CONSTITUTION: A client(20) includes a feedback information generator(25), and a server(10) comprises a transmission rate controller(15) and communicates with a client. The client generates feedback information including channel state information and transmission state information through the feedback information generator and transmits the generated feedback information to the server. The server judges the transmission state and the channel state based on the feedback information, adjusts a data transmission rate through the transmission adjustment unit.
