Summary:PURPOSE: A quercetin-amino acid conjugate is provided to enhance cell permeability, stability to hydrolase, and solubility. CONSTITUTION: A quercetin-amino acid conjugate is prepared by attaching amino acid residue to quercetin. The amino acid is alanine, valiine, lysine, phenylalanine, aspartate, methionine, or glutamic acid. The quercetin-amino acid conjugate is a compound of chemical formula. In chemical formula, R1 is CH_3, CH(CH_3)_2, (CH_2)_4NH_2, CH_2Ph, CH_2CO_2H, CH_2CH_2SCH_3, or CH_2CH_2CO_2H; and R2 is OH, (S)NHCH(CH2CO2H)CO2H, or (S)NHCH(CH2CH2CO2H)CO2H. A pharmaceutical composition contains quercetin-amino acid conjugate as an active ingredient.
