Summary:PURPOSE: An idle period reporting device and a method for power management are provided to manage power based on at least data corresponding to an idle period partially. CONSTITUTION: An idle period reporting logic(306) receives data corresponding to an idle period about one or more downstream devices. The idle period reporting logic transmits data corresponding to the idle period which will expire next. A device control logic(302) manages power based on at least part of the received data. The device control logic is converted into a low power state in response to the data reception corresponding to the idle period.
