Summary:PURPOSE: A flash memory device and a controller for a flash memory device are provided to transfer data at a high speed when data transfer is required between flash memory chips. CONSTITUTION: First and second memory chips are connected to a bus. When the data stored at a first memory chip is loaded to the bus through a reading command applied to the first memory chip, a controller(120) applies a writing command to a second memory chip and moves the data from the first memory chip to the second memory chip. When the abrasion degree of the first memory chip is larger than that of the second memory, the controller moves the chip data of the first memory to the second memory.
