Summary:PURPOSE: An ESD protection device and a composite electronic component of the same are provided to improve productivity and economicity by implementing an additional thin film. CONSTITUTION: A base(2) has the surface of an electrical insulating surface(2a). Electrodes(3a,3b) are arranged on the surface of the electrical insulating surface. The electrodes are separated from each other. A functional layer(4) is interposed between electrodes. The electrode has a multi level structure. A gap between electrode becomes narrow to the gas.
