Summary:PURPOSE: A method and a system for inputting of terminal are provided to enable user to generate input signal at a desired distance. CONSTITUTION: A pattern information is detected(S103). The pattern information comprises at least one of the light pattern irradiated to a display unit, direction of the pattern, and the movement of the pattern. A function table which defined preset terminal function according to the pattern information is loaded. By referring the function table, the terminal function is controlled according to the pattern information(S107). The terminal function is differently controlled according to at least one of a direction of the pattern and a movement direction of the pattern.
