Summary:PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to automatically adjust the height of the floor of a dispenser by detecting the height of a container which is inserted in the dispenser. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises: a height sensor(323) which senses the height of a container which is inserted in the cavity of a dispenser(160); a height adjusting device(330) which adjusts the height of the floor of the dispenser; and a controller which controls the height adjusting device based on the detected height. The controller controls the height adjusting device so that the floor descends as the height of container is going high and so that the end part of the container is located in a setting location in the cavity.
