PURPOSE: A display device and a method for operating thereof are provided to perform a low power display device of thinner and simpler structure, thereby maximizing portability and usability of the display device. CONSTITUTION: The first lines(La_1,La_2,...,La_n) are extended on a semiconductor substrate in the first direction. The second lines(Lb_1,Lb_2,...,Lb_n) intersects with the first lines on the semiconductor substrate. The second lines are extended in the second direction. Display devices(115) are located in the cross area of the first lines and the second lines. The display devices perform a display operation according to drive signals through the first lines and the second lines from outside.
