Summary: | PURPOSE: A fuel cell activation device and a method thereof are provided to reduce the activation time of a stack, to minimize the water concentration gradient of a polymer electrolyte membrane, and to prevent the crossover of fuel gas caused by a pressure difference. CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell activation device comprises the following: an electronic load(12) connected with a fuel anode and an air electrode on a fuel cell stack(10); a controlling unit(16) to control the activation of the fuel cell stack; and a flow rate meter(24), a pressure sensor(14) and a back pressure controller(18) installed on an outlet unit of the fuel anode and the air electrode. The flow rate meter measures the water drainage amount from the outlet unit. The pressure sensor measures the pressure of the outlet unit. |
