Summary:A functionalized polymer is disclosed that comprises the reaction product of a polymer having one or more pendant reactive functional groups and a color changing indictor having a co-reactive functional group. The co-reactive functional group of the color changing is able to react with the reactive functional group of the polymer to form a covalent bond. Therefore, the color changing indicator is pendant from the polymer. The color changing indicator maintains its ability to produce a visually discernable color change in the presence of an associated stimulus.
