Summary:PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for allocating an ACK/NACk channel in a wireless communication system are provided to prevent the duplicate allocation of ACK/NACk channel by changing ACK/NACK channel for retransmission according to the number of holes of channel. CONSTITUTION: A base station assigns an ACK / NACK channel to each terminal according to the configuration order of a resource allocation message. The base station transmits the resource assign message and data to each terminal(309). The base station confirms the change of the ACK / NACK signal. The base station changes the ACK / NACK channel of the terminals according to channel allocation cancel information.
