Summary: | Provided is a high-output axial gap type rotating machine, in which permanent magnets are firmly fixed without decreasing the quantities of magnetic fluxes. The axial gap type rotating machine comprises a housing (19), a spindle (11) rotatably supported in the housing, a pair of rotors (15a and 15b) including rotary discs (12a and 12b) made rotatable on and with the spindle and a plurality of permanent magnets (13a and 13b) arranged at a spacing and concentrically on at least one of the surfaces of the rotary discs, such that the faces having the permanent magnets facing each other at a space therebetween, and stators (18) arranged at a space between the confronting paired rotors and fixed in the housing, and including a plurality of coils (16) arranged concentrically at a spacing. The magnetic fluxes to be generated by the permanent magnets of the rotors go through the insides of the individual coils (16) concentrically arranged, interruptedly according to the rotations of the spindle (11). The axial gap type rotating machine is constituted such that the rotary discs have recesses (21) in the faces confronting the stators, and such that the permanent magnets are so fitted in the recesses as to have protrusions from the surfaces of the rotary discs. |
