Summary:PURPOSE: A drum washing machine is provided to reduce noise and contaminants by increasing the structural integrity of a tub and by smoothing the inner rear surface of the tub. CONSTITUTION: A drum washing machine comprises a main body, a drum, a tub, a shaft, and a motor. The drum is pivotally installed inside the main body. The tub is arranged outside the drum. The shaft is connected to the drum through the rear wall of the tub in order to rotate the drum. The motor is installed outside the tub and generates the driving force for rotating the shaft. A reinforcing rib is formed on the outer surface of the rear wall(10) of the tub.
