Summary:PURPOSE: A universal head of a lapping machine for processing workpieces with different thickness is provided to cope with the vertical movement of an upper platen due to deviation by having the shape of a joint which rotates frontward, backward, leftward, and rightward. CONSTITUTION: A universal head(60) of a lapping machine for processing workpieces with different thickness comprises a first, a second, and a third housing(70,80,90). The first housing is coupled with a piston rod. The second housing is coupled by a first joint unit(81) to rotate leftward and rightward based on the center of the first housing. The third housing is coupled by a second joint unit(91) to rotate frontward and backward based on the center of the second housing.
