Summary:PURPOSE: A diphenyl phthalate compound is provided to ensure an effect of inhibiting the growth of cells by activating the expression of p21 as a cell cycle proceeding inhibitor, to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells, and to induce apoptosis. CONSTITUTION: A diphenyl phthalate compound has a structure represented by chemical formula 1. A pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of cancer disease comprises the diphenyl phthalate compound and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The cancer disease is cancer caused by abnormality of p21 genes. The pharmaceutically acceptable salts are acid addition salts formed by free acids.
