Summary:PURPOSE: A blue BAM phosphor for a plasma display panel is provided to improve the lifetime of the plasma display panel with stability from a deterioration process when manufacturing the plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: A blue BAM phosphor for a plasma display panel consists a phosphor component with an Al/Ba molar ratio for the particle surface of the phosphor component which is 1.1~1.4 times more than the Al/Ba molar ratio for the inside of the phosphor component. The Al/Ba molar ratio for the particle surface of the phosphor component is 13~16. The Al/Ba molar ratio for the inside of the phosphor component is 11~12. A method of producing a blue BAM phosphor for a plasma display panel comprises the following steps of: firstly heating the mixture of Ba, Mg, Al, and Eu compounds in a room environment; and secondly heating the mixture after adding an Al compound in a reducing environment.
