PURPOSE: A method for preparing fluorescent silica is provided to prepare fluorescent silica which has reduced cytotoxin and is chemically stable compared with existing fluorescent silica. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing fluorescent silica comprises the steps of: preparing a mixed dye by mixing an organic solvent with fluorescent dye selected from tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)dichlororuthenium(II) hexahydrate or 2,5-bis(5-tert-butyl-2-benzoxajoly)thiophine; preparing a mixed solution by adding ammonia solution to the mixed dye; adding tetraethyl orthosilicate to the mixed solution and treating the mixture with ultrasonic waves; and centrifuging the mixed solution and then heat-treating.
