Summary:PURPOSE: An LCD device is provided to form an infrared blocking filter in the light receiving unit of an optical sensor, thereby minimizing the influence of the infrared components of external light for the operation of the optical sensor. CONSTITUTION: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device comprises an optical sensor(120). The optical sensor outputs a light sensing signal corresponding to the brightness of external light. In correspondence with the light sensing signal, the LCD device controls the luminance of the light. The light is created in a backlight. An infrared blocking filter(240) is arranged on a light path. The external light comes into the optical sensor on the light path. An infrared blocking material is spread in an area of a front polarizing plate(220).
