Summary:PURPOSE: A foldable derrick structure for a ship is provided to allow for the ship to pass the route with air draft limit and thus to sail without restriction in route. CONSTITUTION: A derrick includes an upper derrick element, a lower derrick element(11), and a hinge unit. The upper derrick element is divided into a upper first derrick element and a lower second derrick element. The hinge unit couples the upper derrick element to rotate with respect to the lower derrick element fixed to the ship. A first and a second hydraulic cylinder(61,62) are installed in the first and the second derrick element, respectively. A support stand(30) supports the upper derrick element.
