Summary:PURPOSE: A sound source search device using humming and a method thereof are provided to absorb a change of unstable pitches through melody expression in accordance with a feature amount by fuzzy quantization using a membership function. CONSTITUTION: A delta pitch measurer(11) measures a delta pitch from an input humming signal. A fuzzy quantization unit(12) generates a code value by fuzzy quantization of the measured delta pitch. A similarity calculator(13) calculates similarity by comparing the generated code value with code values of each sound source. Each sound source code value is stored in a sound source code value DB. A sound source searcher(14) searches a predetermined sound source according to the similarity.
