Summary:PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to form a liquid crystal alignment film with low crystal alignment property, excellent rubbing resistance, and heat resistance and to form a liquid crystal display device with excellent display quality and long-term reliability. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent includes at least one kind of a polymer. The polymer is selected from the group consisting of a polyamic acid obtained by reacting tetracarboxylic dianhydride and diamine, and an imidized polymer obtained by dehydration ring closing the polyamic acid. The diamine comprises a compound represented by the following chemical formula A.
