Summary:PURPOSE: A metal nuclear fuel rod and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent fuel-cladding chemical and mechanical interactions by inserting a metal sheath into a cladding tube. CONSTITUTION: A metal sheath and liquid sodium are inserted into a cladding tube. The metal sheath contains the coarse metal nuclear fuel particle and the minute metal nuclear fuel particle. The metal nuclear fuel particle is the alloy of the uranium and zirconium, the alloy of the uranium, zirconium and rare earth materials or the alloy of the uranium, zirconium, rare earth materials and actinium element. The size of the coarse metal nuclear fuel particle is 0.1 to 1 mm. The size of the minute metal nuclear fuel particle is 0.01 to 0.1 mm. The particle packing density of the metal nuclear fuel particle inside the metal sheath is 70 to 80 %.
