Summary:A multi-function external device for a mobile terminal is provided to reduce resistance of users and cut down development costs by using an existing mobile phone. At least two external devices have a barcode recognition function, a GPS receiving function, and a touch screen function. A mobile terminal such as a mobile phone or a PDA(Personal Digital Assistance) mounts a communication port and platform such as Windows mobile. A multiplexer selectively communicates the two external devices with the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal comprises application software. The application software performs an external device selecting function and a communication function through the multiplexer.
