Summary: | A strengthened energy detector and a detection method thereof for classifying the type of a user signal in an IEEE 802.22 WRAN system are provided to detect VSB signal designated on priority user and WMP signal by using MMPR(Maximum-to-Mean Power Ratio). A first energy detection module(510) compares the presence of signal with the first threshold and classifies the energy of the received signal. The energy of the received signal is greater than the first threshold while a second energy detection module(520) passes by an entire frequency domain to the first window size by utilizing frequency values squared at each window. The electricity and MMPR are used the second energy detection module. The type of the user signal which firstly distinguishes the kind of the user signal included is classified. |
