Summary: | A slag thickness measuring method and a desulfurization method of molten steel are provided to enhance desulfurization efficiency in LF and reduce the desulfurization time by confirming the sulfur concentration quickly. A slag thickness measuring method, when inserting a three-phrase electrode rod in the molten steel covered with slag and raising the molten steel temperature using arcing heat, comprises a step of measuring a noise generated from the insertion of the three-phrase electrode rod, and a step of measuring the slag thickness using the measured noise value. The slag thickness is evaluated as 270~300mm when the noise value is 95dB or less, 240~270mm at 95~97dB, 220~240mm at 98~101dB, 140~220mm at 102~104dB, and 140mm at more than 104dB. |
