Summary:There is provided an apparatus and method for excavating a vertical hole capable of being used for excavation construction in places having complicated geological structures or in the winter. The apparatus and method for excavating a vertical hole may useful to vertically excavate the ground to form a guidance hole by using a cone-type bit installed in a lower rear end of a vertical excavation engagement unit engaged with a drill pipe, and injecting a high-pressure air-water (HPA-W) into a cone-type bit via a drill pipe and a vertical excavation engagement unit to grind and float slimes crushed by the cone-type bit with a high pressure, thereby discharging the high-pressure air-water through a space between the guidance hole ad vertical excavation engagement unit.
