Summary:A garbage compactor is provided to compress the garbage in a trash can rapidly by using a spring and compress the garbage in the trash can strongly by using a compression tube to compress the garbage in a vertical direction. A garbage compactor(10) is composed of a spring(20), a compression rod(12), a compression board(13) and a compression tube(16). The compression board connected to the bottom of the compression rod presses and compresses the garbage in case of pressing the compression rod from the top to the bottom through a through hole(31a) formed in the upper side(31) of the trash can. Guide holes(17,18) are formed in the top and bottom of the compression tube. The guide hole has optimal interval and size.
